Those of us who sat watching the '67 war unfold, the miracle of Israel moving forward day by day, inch by inch taking back Golan and land used to murder Jews mark those days as significant as Kennedy's assassination or 9/11. '67 borders, '48 borders, the point is to squeeze Israel until it now longer exists. '67 borders and chop up Jerusalem so the murderers can return to full frontal killing instead of having to work long distance. No return of land or border negotiations, continued growth of settlements, protect the North and Jerusalem is just fine under Jewish administration where every religion is free to come and go, unlike the days when the murderers held it captive. Never again. The Rebbe said do not reliquish Golan under any circumstances.

If the president was able to watch this unfold in real time, as it happened, we should be able to see a single photo confirming bin laden is d.e.a.d.

Through the Looking Glass

Things are never what they seem, in particular, the American president who has been preparing for months to dispose of Bin Laden. Clearly we could not leave Afghanistan, chased out as the Russians were and as al Quaeda reminded us would be our fate as well, until this was resolved and not be our own exhaustion. So that is done. And it was being plotted and planned by people mostly unknown, unseen while the president was being scourged by his own government officials, party members and others like Trump who now look like fools asking about birth certificates. A birth certificate while legally is critical, does not a loyal citizen serving this country make. People born with unquestionable pieces of paper stating the legitimacy of their births have gone out with guns and murdered their fellow citizens. It doesnt seem like barely ten years ago I and colleagues stood on the roof of the College watching the first tower burning and seeing the plane slowly coming toward the 2nd tower and meld right into it, in total silence. That was most devastating, the entire mass murder of thousands taking place in total silence and in plain view. I'm sure at Ground Zero silence was not a factor, but to be so close and yet helpless to do anything but watch changed some lives in what might seem inexplicable ways. My co worker, a Bosnian young woman left soon after to return to her country to do rescue work and help rebuild. She decided the comforts of America made no sense while others were living completely bereft lives. I and many others began a journey to understand Islam, reading, going to mosques, learning to pray, rewiring our brains to not ask questions as faith was always the default key, faith and acceptance. But we're being told Bin Laden's death has nothing to do with Islam-that America is not a war with Islam. That is insulting to everyone's intelligence, both muslim and non muslim. No matter how Bin Laden was portrayed by global media as distorting Islam for his own political gain, the man did what he did out of his own religious belief that the fight for Islam's future had to be taken everywhere, the caliphate was not simply a dream and that all governments, including those run by Muslim dictators, were corrupt. So it is all about Islam, not just the mind of one rogue individual. His training camps over the past 2 decades have created thousands of foot soldiers and cells, sympathizers who are neither muslim or who ever attended his training camps that are dangerous due to frustration with their own lives. This is not a closed chapter, the book is not finished...too many invisible players have yet to make their moves. Ayman al Zawahiri has been silent for many years. Adam Gadhan? Yosef Khattab who returned to Queens from Gaza and Jew baiting...where are his wife and now adult children? Lives were destroyed in the most obvious ways when those towers fell, wives, husbands, childrens lost their families; first responders are having to spend their remaining years waiting to die from various diseases contracted from rescuing people. And hidden away there are the confused fools like myself who looked at Islam as a great misunderstood religion, one so akin to Judaism in certain laws, behaviour, customs it almost seemed that the Quran had been hijacked and revised as a warning specifically to bring Jews into the fold. I had to immerse myself so deep as to have endangered myself abroad and at home naively thinking that doing things from good intentions (self defined) and with a pure heart (self defined) that what possible harm or wrong could be misconstrued by anyone. Aside from the personal damage to myself, financially, emotionally, my children were alienated. My act to understand this controverted religion only insulted those people who went out of their way to rectify my religious status by arranging a conversion to Judaism decades earlier. Born in a country where individualism and self fulfillment is key to success in a capitalistic society, its taken me too long to understand what Mrs. Sossonko snapped at my first boss in Crown Heights-"ich hab ein balabuss" when he ordered her to do something against Jewish law-I think it pertained to taking papers off his rivals desk and giving it to him. She had lived through WW2, was a poor refugee, her husband was a caretaker for a small shul. The lesson for me is that there are 2 paths, and one is the path Jews have to follow and that path is not self defined, it is carefully defined by Orthodox adherence. When a Jew steps off, reinterprets what Life is and should be, no matter the difficulties, removes G-d from the picture and pretends no one sees anything, we only fool ourselves. And if we are truly blessed and lucky, G-d has mercy on us and patiently waits until we finish knocking our thick skulls against foreign doors and walls that have nothing to offer us except grief. That includes going to colleges that today teach curriculums that serve no purpose for moral decent human living. Bin Laden would have died sooner than later, the important thing is what is learned from our experiences resulting from the destruction he inflicted directly and indirectly to so many around the world in the name of his so-called religion.
